OLAPCreateDataArea function

Hello

I'm new to this Application Engine product. I´m stuck in how the call is made using the data OLAPCreateDataArea function (detailed statement). Has anyone had experience with this feature? Can you provide me some examples? I really apreciate your help

See attached. This is our program to copy a budget. Any function that starts with "RHR" is a custom function that we wrote.

You cannot use OLAPCreateDataArea on the same variable twice. Make sure you create a new variable each time.

From the Documentation:

DataAreaOperator

When you work with data areas, it is often required to filter the data for specific element types or specific values. You can combine the filter operators in this table to shape the data area to your requirements:

`DataAreaOperator`	Description
`OlapDataAreaNone`	Do not apply any filters.
`OlapDataAreaIncludeB`	Include base cells in result.
`OlapDataAreaIncludeC`	Include calculated cells in result.
`OlapDataAreaSuppressNull`	Do not return null values.
`OlapDataAreaOperatorNone`	Do not apply any filters to the elements.
`OlapDataAreaOperatorLess`	Selects only elements that are less than a threshold value.
`OlapDataAreaOperatorLessOrEqual`	Selects only elements that are less than or equal to a threshold value.
`OlapDataAreaOperatorEqual`	Selects only elements that are equal to a certain value.
`OlapDataAreaOperatorNotEqual`	Selects only elements that are not equal to a certain value.
`OlapDataAreaOperatorGreaterOrEqual`	Selects only elements that are greater than or equal to a threshold value.
`OlapDataAreaOperatorGreater`	Selects only elements that are greater than a threshold value.

OlapDataAreaBCells includes all base cells.

Connect to OLAP at the start of the process. JR_2020 is the hard coded name of my application.

Projects is the cube
The operators like OlapDataAreaBCells are pretty well described in the help text. Normally you will just include base elements but sometimes you want calculated values too.
Project and Version and Measure were string parameters in the function call. By specifying say Project you pass in in this case a single project but you can also pass in string lists with multiple elements. 98% of the time you will want to use OlapDataAreaSuppressNull to supress null elements.

Important I think is to put the parameters in the correct order as the cube definition. That's why I have the comment line to remind me.

Having created it you can do a lot of things like clear the area, loop through it etc.

You would loop through with.

The variable e holds the cube value - normally a number but it could be text.

Not the worlds best code in hindsight as you re-initialize the variables on each loop but the overhead is small.
