Security to restrict access to specific documents in data lake based of customer defined security gr

Hello. I'm trying to determine if the current configuration or future roadmap supports the following scenario or similiar?

Scenario: I have a large number of tables covering various domains in LN (finance, manufacturing, quality, warehouse, etc) that are being published to the Data Lake. I would like to create a custom security group in IFS or ION that restricts certain users to only see documents relative to their role. Members of the finance group can only see the finance related documents, but not the manufacturing or quality documents.

Can we create custom groups like that and apply security at the document level to these groups? I think from reading the ION Desk User Guide, this is possible via IFS Document authorizations and the User Management portion of IFS, but not 100% confident in that assumption.

Is always better use Groups and not Users.

The control is by made by IFS and not by Database roles.

Hey @rpowers , clients and users with access to Compass are able to query all contents of the Data Lake but we are presently shaping up our roadmap to include table and column level security requirements. Typically, clients take the form of applications and often incorporate security frameworks themselves to govern who has access to content. For example, Birst, d/EPM, Mongoose, and others.

In that case "normal" users should not have access to Compass directly
