Previous year compared to current year

Hi all,

I have requirements to display previous year and current year results in a table. Is there a way to do this using designer and/or visualizer?

I attempted the methods suggested in previous posts to create a previous year variable with no success, any expertise provided is appreciated.

You can use the syntax

[Date: Aggregate: Measure] where [Time.Year] = DatePart(Year, NowDate)

for current year and 

[Date: Aggregate: Measure] where [Time.Year] = DatePart(Year, NowDate) - 1

for previous year.
