Business Modelling - Custom Extensions - Reports - Report Parameters

Hi,

I tried pass a report parameter that I defined in AppStudio in set of Report - Report Parameters in Business Modelling.

My objective is to define in this field the unique name of an element, so that the report is automatically filtered through the report-Parameter text.

But analysing the documentation I cannot understand how this works, can help?

i have not tried myself, but it looks like, you nead to read the value from the dimension mentioned in the documentation:

According to the documentation, report parameter which you define in AppStudio has nothing to do with the setting in the Business modeling.

however I do not understand, nor is it clear in the documentation, what kind of expression we should put in this field and how it interacts with the report

Hi,

my guess, and reading the documentation, if you set Report parameter in the business modelling (which is not the same as report parameter in the AppStudio), that

you can create action on report load, which reads it out from the REPORTPARAM attribute of the BPDNAVIGATION dimension.

The user does not need to go to modify the action in the AppStudio and check out and then check in the report, when for instance new default period is needed, but would need just to update the parameter in the business modelling. But that requires, that the report on the load action reads the parameter published.

That is how I understand it and a possible use case.
