Report Expression Filter

Hi,

We have the M3 Analytics Data Model already created which has a Business Channel column. It is populated with Not Available. I created a Global Attribute Report Expression. It works in the actual report, but when i try to add this to a dashboard, it does not seem to apply the filter to the data after i add the filter to the dashboard. What might i be doing wrong?

IIF([Business Chain.Business Chain Level 1] = 'Not Available',[Customer.Customer],[Business Chain.Business Chain Level 1])

I can confirm that the Not Available is done via a scripted source in the M3 Analytics ETL. I will need to check if part of hierarchy. Our sales reporting wants to default the business chain to the customer if the customer is not assigned a business chain in M3.

Please clarify if this Business Channel column and attribute of a hierarchy? If so, a better approach is to create a Custom Attribute on the hierarchy. The condition syntax is different using IF THEN END IF. It is also prudent to review if the data from the Data Lake and further upstream is providing the 'Not Available' or is it a scripted source within the M3 Analytics. Is the 'Not Available' truly the appropriate result. Why do you need to assess to provide a Customer?

The field that i use to derive my expression is part of a hierarchy. The field that i derived as a report expression is obviously not part of a hierarchy since it is a report expression.

A better approach is to create a Custom Attribute on the hierarchy.
