Get maximum value from repeatable XML node?

Hey everyone,

Another newbie ION question for you all!

I have an XML with some repeatable elements - its the BillofMaterials Standard Infor BOD.

Here is a section of the file:

Is there an ION mapper function available where it can determine the maximum value of LineNumber (so in the example above, 41) and return that to a field in the data area of the BOD? I know I will have to make a custom BOD adding that field and that's fine- just can't figure out the mapping function to use.

Hello,

By using XSLT 2.0 code, you can declare a variable "maxLineNumber" like this :

<xsl:variable name="maxLineNumber" select="max(../BillOfMaterialsLine/LineNumber)"/>. 

.. and then add it in a tag:

<MyNewTag>

 <xsl:value-of select = "$maxLineNumber" />

</MyNewTag>

...or you can change the value of an existing tag, which will allow you to keep the same BOD. Give it a try:
