Automate the assignment of security roles to users

Hello,

I would like to know if there is a simple way to prepare the assignment of security roles to users from an XLS file for example.

I don't seem to have seen any existing API related to IFS that would allow to perform this action.

Do you have any ideas on how to automate this work?

You can assign existing security roles in the .csv import. Name the columns SecurityRole1,SecurityRole2,...,SecurityRoleN.

(One thing you cannot do, as far as I've been able to determine, is assign an Accounting Entity. Fortunately we only have one business unit who needs that for M3 currently.)

Here is a real example we use with personal identifying information obfuscated:

EmailId,PersonId,UserGuid,FirstName,LastName,Title,Department,FederatedId,UserName,UPN,GenericProperty_ActorID,SecurityRole1,SecurityRole2,SecurityRole3,SecurityRole4,SecurityRole5,SecurityRole6,SecurityRole7,SecurityRole8

Once you check the Update existing users option do you not then have the option to check the Complete Replacement of Security Roles option? This is what I see in our MT Ming.le:

First investigate of SCIM Groups (Cloud) or AD Groups (On-Prem) are better solution for the problem you have.

But while reading it, I realized that I had forgotten to specify an important context element which leads me to ask this subject: the Infor OS platform is not synchronized with any directory. The cloud is used in stand alone mode

Agreeing with Christian, SCIM would be the recommend way. You could have a app such as python read a file/data base and make the SCIM call.

You can use XML BODs for some of the activity.. Document flow from a CSV file to transform to BOD and send to IFS.

There is an CSV file import in the IFS UI.

Are you doing full life cycle activities; onboard, transition, separation? with birthright roles for most of them?

I have built a crude Excel worksheet that can build the file from a few questions. If you want, email a request for that.

But it believe that the existing CSV file import in the IFS UI can only import users but not their associated security roles. May be i am wrong. I have to re-check that point.
