Using ION and Enterprise connector to pull and push data to on-prem system through IPS, ION throws e

Good morning,

We are migrating our Infor Public Sector (Hansen) on-prem database from Oracle to SQL Server. Our current production environment has an ION interface to a third-party application which is in Oracle. The ION IOBoxes for the third-party were built into the Hansen database because we did not have that level of access to the application, we just drop the data into a single table and their system moves it into the proper database tables from there.

The issue we are having is coming from an Oracle function that we are converting to a SQL Server procedure and how ION is handling it. We are seeing the message 'OLE DB provider XXXXXXX was unable to begin a distributed transaction'. We have simplified the procedure and we have tested it outside of ION and it works as expected.

We have entered a ticket, Incident 16510005, and they have referred this to dev.

The flow goes like this: (WRS is the third-party app)

Hansen to WRS: Hansen (Application) > Standard BOD: Sync.MaintenanceOrder > Mapping: MaintenanceOrder_to_HansenInterface > Custom BOD: Sync.HansenInterface > HansenInterface (Database) > ***Stored Procedure: PROCESS_HANSEN_OUTBOUND (Updates/Inserts into WRS "HansenInterface" table)

***When we trying to send test data through the SP it errors. It also throws the same error when going the other direction.

It seems like there should be a simpler way to get from the Mapping document to the Insert/Update statement...

Hi Nick. Did you test the procedure in SQL Server using the login that your database connection point in ION is using?

Not to go too far down this path, but I'm curious if there is a linked server used in the SQL SP. If so, my guess is that if the database connection is going through an Enterprise Location / Connector, there might be a setting on that server and/or the data server to allow a distributed connection.

Thanks for stepping in to help me on this. We do have a linked server between the Hansen Sql database and the WRS Oracle database, and we are using ION Enterprise Connector. I have never done much with ION EC other than update the software and check connectivity. I am due for an upgrade to the ION EC software, and I will probably run that this afternoon.

Do you happen to know where I can find the settings you speak of, and what I am looking for?
