Has anyone found a way to automate a dataview report in CSI 10 (Cloud) that contains a custom column?
We ended up re-creating most reports with custom columns. Is there functionality you are seeing with custom columns that you cannot recreate with the expression columns?
Chris - I had not used Expression Columns up to this point. Let me move it to that and see if I can add it to a background task and it run. Thanks for the input!
fwiw, we found that dataviews with custom columns in them cannot be viewed from the web client, which was a big reason why we had to move away from them and to expression columns. We are in the MT cloud, so the issue may be specific to that environment though. So far, we have been able to figure out a way to make expressions work for every custom column we had, but it was a limited number so I'm curious if any loss of functionality is noticed. Good luck!
We are also in the MT cloud. I also found out last year custom columns could not be viewed from the web client. At the time, not all of our expression columns could be viewed when running the dataview as a background task but past uplifts have resolved all of them now.
I was successfully able to move what I needed in a "Custom Column" to an "Expression Column" and was able to then run it as a background task. Thank you for suggesting this!
