How to generate Metadata of type BOD

Hi All,

I have created a data model and clicked on Generate Meatdata at the top . When i checked in Data catalog -> object schemas -> Schema is generated of JSON type and we need BOD type to be used in mapping.

can you please suggest on how to generate metadata using BOD type?

Hi Manjunath,

I guess you cannot generate meta data as BOD type directly from the Database connection point.

One possible way to convert the JSON to BOD is by using ION script, you can convert the JSON data to a BOD structure using Script, then you should create your own XML file that matches your BOD Data Area and generate the meta data Manually in Object Schemas and you can use that schema in your mapping.

To avoid namespace issue you should have ION mapping. ION mapper to convert your BOD from one verb to another, for eg: if your going to use "load.OracleConn" in MEC mapper use ION mapper to convert "Process.OracelConn" to "Load.OracleConn" (the process verb you can choose while creating your Object schema along with Load in noun properties.) remove the path xmlns=" some URL" in XSLT editor and this will give you a valid BOD.

Data flow for the above example will now look like:

Database --> Scripting-->ION Mapper-->Destination

1. Database will give you JSON data( make sure you chose JSON array option in the data model setting- it will be easier in convertion to XML)
2. Scripting output should be Process.OracleConn 
3. ION mapper output should be Load.OracelConn ( this will be you MEC mapper)
4. Final destination.

It is a bit of a work , may you you can wait for some other suggestion to achieve this in a easiest way.
