Write back mode in Excel integration needs to be replaced with DBGET 2 way functionality

A customer who has spent a long time in the upgrade process to V12 has reviewed the Excel integration functionality.

A specific are that they feel is too clunky is the operation of the Writeback functionality.

1. You should not have to be in writeback mode to perform writeback, having an infor,get should automatically assume write back capability and

2. when generating a self-service report, there should be an option to generate an infor.get formula instead of infor.read.

3. It should be possible to generate an ad-hoc report with wirteback capability. "Infor.get.slice"

4. It should be possible to create a formula report from an adhoc report with writeback capability.

I totally agree with you, as all of my customers and myself as well feel the writeback in Excel too complicated. Especially those users who are used to use Office Plus for a long time

allow me to add some details.

With the upcoming possibility to disable writeback for the end users, we will reevaluate this behavior. This feedback is extremely appreciated.
It should be available even now, see screenshot below:
This is absolutely something we want to introduce ASAP, but we are facing some issues related to the Dynamic Arrays functionality. But yes, it is on our roadmap.
Conversion of the Ad-hoc report is going to be introduced quite soon. In first version it will allow you to convert to INFOR.READ.VALUE formulas and possibility to change it to INFOR.GET.VALUE will follow.
