Sneaky user problem

Life would be so much simpler without some users....

We've modified the Unposted Job Transactions form in Syteline. If materials for the Job/Operation selected have not been issued, the form displays a message box telling the user to go issue the material and closes the form when they click OK.

Someone has worked out that the Prompt box also has a close (X) button and if they click that, the message goes away and the form stays open allowing them to enter time and close the Op before the material is issued.

The prompt is configured as below. Is there a way of generating the Prompt box so that the OK button is the only control?

Or is there another way?

I have a workaround for the issue, but would still be interested to know if there were more graceful options.

What if you code the area where you have the message prompt code currently, to immediately call the close form event, and in the close form event put your message prompt there. If they hit the X on the message the transactions form will already be in the close event?

I dont know if there is an option you can tweak in MsgApp global script.

Thank you for the suggestion. I tried something like that but although the form closes it does so with an 'Object not set with a reference' error which will look like a crash to most users.

My workaround was to add an OnDataChange event handler to the 'Complete Operation' checkbox. If the Variable which trips the prompt is still 0 (which it should be unless they take a seriously circuitous route) when the checkbox is ticked then the form shuts without further warning.

If they manage to part complete the operation before issuing the material, it isn't a disaster (merely illogical)

just want to add, if you generate StdFormClose to the current form it will cause an error. try StdFormClose postevent instead to close the form.
