d/EPM Application Studio -viewable report to users

My application studio report that I built is viewable to me under BI FSM > FSM reports when I'm in Cloud Suite, but other users cannot see anything or make selections. I thought maybe that hide from report viewers - false would allow users who have view to see the reports but they are still not seeing data. It makes it hard for me to know when I have corrected the issue because my view shows the report I have built.

I'm very new to report development through app studio. I hope this is an easy fix.

The Hide from report viewers setting when set to true basically stops users seeing it in the dashboard client.

A dialog for instance might be hidden as it makes no sense to open it except from another dashboard.

If the user sees the dashboard/report but no data then they don't have permission to the data. Permissions has a learning curve so you probably want to loop in an experienced colleague to take a look.

Thank you for getting back to me. I would say I don't think it is a permissions issue anymore. I have some users who can actually see a small section of the report while I can see the entire report.

Do you know why my view would be different than other users?

I would say this looks like issue with values for variables. You see report with filter defined by the variables and values of such variables for you might be different from values of the same variables for other users. You can check variable values for other users from Application Studio to see what do they see. If this is the case, defining some default value or creating a start report action should help with the issue.

I agree with Nick. I have run into similar issues, and typically it is related to variables. It is often because a user has a blank value in one of the applicable variables. Are you using global variables or report variables for this report? Are you familiar with how to check the users variables?

If you go to your "Accessories" in Application Studio and right click on "Global Variables" or "Report Variables", and then "Manage Values for Users" you can see the values set for the respective users (see below). Hopefully this makes sense. If not, I'd be happy to walk you through it - doesn't take long.
