How to control input parameters when lauching a workflow manually ?

Hi,

If we use the possibility to launch a workflow manually, do you think it is possible to make some of the entered parameters mandatory and to make some controls simply on their values?

Ideally, this would be better before the workflow actually runs.

At worst, possibly in the very first tasks of the workflow. But how to identify the person who started the workflow to eventually notify him/her that he/she entered wrong parameters?

Any ideas ?

Hello Denis,

1. Currently, it is not possible to "mark" workflow parameters as mandatory or to control their values before the workflow is started.
2. Yes, you can check entered values when the workflow started and add a task to a responsible person if values are not set or set incorrectly.

To identify a user who started the workflow you can add a String parameter and then use a "Source" expression in a "Set parameter" step.

In the meantime, I have discovered that using configuration codes can be a good alternative to control input parameters

Could you please elaborate more on how we can make entering an output parameter as mandatory using configuration codes like specifying 'Reason for rejection' ?

First, you create your list of codes as below :

And then you declare a input parameter as a "code' and by referencing your list of codes:

o you think that with the help of the ID number it is possible through APIs (but I did not manage to identify which ones) to, for example, find the email of the user who has launched this workflow?
