MFA (Multi-Factor Authenthication) Configuration

Hi Community.

Some one knows if Infor OS (On premise) o Single tenant has available the funcionality of MFA? I found it in Infor OS ® 2023.03.00 multi tenat but not On Premise Infor OS 2022.06.00.

Do you know if On Premise the MFA is available or will be? or only is for multi tenant deployments?

MFA is implemented in the identity provider.

In on premise Infor OS, the identity provider is linked to customers identity provider such as MS AD / ADFS or other under Infor STS.

MT Cloud has a identity provider built in to bootstrap the environment access and fulfill some accounts where they do not want to federate to their identity provider. We recommend that customers federate their MT to their identity provider vs using the built in Infor one. We have other controls that can be configured to further restrict the use of the built in authentication.

There are other scenarios for partially using the Infor identity to authenticate.

With that, the Infor MT supports defining a MFA provider for those accounts authenticating through it's identity provider.

If they federate, then the federated provide is responsible for MFA and any other login controls.

Hi Kevin.

Just to confirm the MFA could be available in on premise Infor OS if the MFA is implemented in the identity provider and imported and maintained under Infor STS. Am I Right? After that, we can get same or similar behaivour as infor OS Multi tenant?

For on prem Infor OS with ADFS security the MFA is handled by ADFS. With Infor OS with STS security the MFA can be handled by the IdP federated with STS for SSO or there is an option to turn on MFA within STS so it can be handled within Infor OS, it works similar to how we do it in MT for cloud identities.

ST cloud only uses ADFS and that ADFS would get federated with customers IdP ( typically ADFS as well ) and that customer IdP would control any MFA requirements.
