Hide Delivered BI FSM SCM Reports and Dashboards (Protected Content - No longer being developed)

Does anyone know how to hide, move, or remove the delivered BI FSM (d/EPM) Supply Chain Reports and Dashboards? It's delivered, protected content that Infor has confirmed they are no longer developing (KB 2257496). As such it creates clutter and confusion for end users and we would like to hide or remove it since we aren't using it.

However, it's protected content. The Dashboards can't be modified or moved, and the Reports in App Studio can't be modified as well (e.g. can't change hidden property).
We are still using the Financials reports and dashboards so inactivating the application is not an option.
It also looks like preventing access to the reports via Security is problematic because you can't remove the ViewRole from any of this content.

It seems like Infor should separate out this content since it's longer part of the go forward SCM reporting strategy (KB 2257496)

yeah this feels like it should be more straightforward and Id encourage you to enter a ticket to see if there is a better way of handling this but the only way Ive figured out how to do this is by making some major changes to your security.

The issue lies with the Viewers Basic Group. If not for this little bugger you could simply remove view permissions to the reports folders and dashboard folders. However, the default post-provisioning of BI FSM is to add all users to the BI-Viewers mingle role. That role is assigned to the Viewers Basic Group which is tied to the ViewRole application role and its, as you pointed out, protected content.

The work around Ive found is as follows:

Create a new mingle role called something like BI-ViewersCustom
create a new Application Role, called something like ViewRoleCustom
grant permission to the BI FSM application to BI-ViewersCustom
Remove all users from BI-Viewers
Add all users to BI-ViewersCustom
Replicate the Application Role permissions of ViewRole in your new Application Role ViewRoleCustom
Assign ViewRoleCustom to only the report and dashboard folders you want your users to see

Understand that while youre doing this it will affect your users access to the system and Im recounting this from memory so be sure you do this in test as I may have forgotten a step or two, but thats the jist of it.

Please post back here if you open a ticket and get better guidance from Infor on how to handle this.

Thanks for the detailed follow up Matt. I had a feeling that was the route we'd need to go down.

I'll likely be building a similar security change in our in our non-prod environment, and I'll follow up with any issues.
I'm also exploring the REST API (BIFSM/Dashboard/rest/Contents) to see if there's a way to do it with a native web call.

I already have an Infor Support incident entered, so we'll see what they say, but I'm not holding my breath for a solution. If they do provide an alternative I'll be sure and update this thread.

"Unfortunately that is not an easy thing to do. Development is working on that but it's a future project that does not have an estimated delivery date. You could open an incident within Infor Marketplace to get assistance from our services team on potentially customizing these forms to hide this information"
