In V12, in Consolidation, is it possible to create a Parent Element in "Adjustment Level" Dimension?

Hello,

In V12, in Consolidation, would it be possible to create a new element as a parent of anothers elements?

For example, in the screenshot I have created 2 new elements: "SAP" and "Manual IFRS", and I would want to create a parent of these 2 ones with title "SAP+Manual IFRS"

Hi Luis,

within the main DCLVEL "HB III" Level hierarchy - No.

The structure of HB III node is given by BM publish process and is not to be changed.

However, if needed for reporting purposes, you can create own hierarchy outside of HB III within DCLEVEL Dimension. By using application engine, you can have a elements grouped in your own parallel hierarchy. This elements are not touched by BM publishing (as of now anyway).

Do you can share some topics how create hierarchy outside of HB III within DCLEVEL Dimension. Because a thinks if we create an alternative hierarchy in DCLEVEL, every time that we publish BM this hierarchy will be delete.

Hi Rui,

Do not modify anything within the HB III level node, which is maintained only by BM. That is purely business model publish process driven.

That means also - no subtotals or base elements which were setup by BM within HB III node. You correctly experienced, that BM is leading here. Also no Attribute changes.

now before you read any further: disclaimer - this can change in feature, without any warnings, if the modeling of the dimensions gets either restricted or differently organized within BM.

I would also strongly recommend not to create new base elements without business modeling outside of HB III for some e.g. notes data collection. That should be collected in custom cube with custom level dimension, even if means to mirror some elements.

That said - you can reuse (as of now) any base elements coming from BM, and assign it to new additional parent within DCLEVEL, which is not a parent in HB III node. so do not re-use "HB III".

but you can setup "HB III_REP" for reporting with additional "_REP" subtotals and have the base elements assigned differently. The hierarchy HB III_REP would - as of now - not be touched by the publish process.
