Originator would like to cancel a application event/workflow

I am looking for a way to allow an originator to cancel a running workflow. We have an approval event handler that a user can submit. If the user realizes they needed to add more information and would like to cancel that request and be able to resubmit they would like to be able to cancel. Has anyone else been able to find a way to allow users to cancel Running Event Handlers?

Add an additional Button for the Workflow Notification Step(s) to allow 'Cancellation'.

I was thinking I could do this, but then that adds the user to the approval email and they could also select Approve. Is there a way to only allow originator to select the cancel option if they are on the CC line?

Yes, but you would have to select a parallel process/notification to handle this, and whomever completes/cancels first would then 'complete' the workflow.

Not sure if this is an acceptable solution?

There is a stored procedure EventEndHandlerSp (this stored procedure also calls EventEndActionSp if the @EventActionStateRowPointer parameter is populated).

This sp uses the following parameters:

@EventHandlerStateRowPointer RowPointerType,
@EventState EventStateType = NULL,
@EventResult EventResultType = NULL,
@NOW DATETIME,
@EventActionStateRowPointer RowPointerType

You could use this stored procedure on the form but you will need to look up the EventHandlerStateRowPointer from the EventState table using the RefRowPointer which would be the primary base table RowPointer. You can use the Edit Stored Procedure form to look at what this stored procedure does.
