Budgeting and Planning - Costume Report in WorkBook that can read variables in task

Hi,

I would like to know if anyone knows of a way to read the variables displayed on the left side of a Task, by a custom report developed in a different repository than DEPMAPPS?

It is because in some cases the users, in task, need see more detail in line than account, for example Account >> Organization Dimension. The idea is in some tasks use a workbook that call a costume report, but this costume report can read the variables Cycle, Entity, currency, version, etc... present in left side of task.

All of the task information is saved in the global variable bap_GlobalContextXML

It is a property string, the function GETPROPERTY is used to find the information.

This is an example of how to extract the information.

Mor examples can be found in the standard data entry report in the EPM Business Applications application.

Look at the report actions.

The report cannot be taken into design mode here, but it can be exported and imported into a custom application, then taken into design mode.

Thanks, but this global variable bap_GlobalContextXML are in repository DEPMAPPS (that we cannot add or change this reports), and we will need use this in another AppStudio repository. Do you know a way to read variables form another AppStudio repository.

Thanks, this works. With your query I can find the variable bap_GlobalContextXML, and get information related to Entiy, Version, cycle, curr, level, task, etc..

But, in some task we have analysis dimension (01, 02, 03, 04). then we tried indetifify the var where this sections are storage, and identified the report variable 'AnalysisDimensions' in report Data Entry main of DEPMAPPS, we create a new query to read report variables (see bellow).

But this var not present/storage values in table coRepVarVal, any idea where we can find this information?

I would look in coRepVarH and coRepVarValH.

This is my suggestion. Make sure your custom workbook tab is a copy of the Wrokbook Tab Template

This can be exported (but not edited) from the EPM Business Application and then imported into your custom application.

It has a set of Report Parameters

What can happen is that the context wizard in your workbook populates it's parameters. Parameter values are shared in dashboards usually by default when there is a common parameter. You should find most settings in SlicersCFG. If you don't find what you want come back to me.
