Report missing

Yesterday I was working on formatting a report in Application Studio when something happened, and it suddenly disappeared from my list of reports in the folder I was working in. This was pretty irritating as I had mostly finished it and was just working on a few tweaks here and there.

Anyway, I recopied it to the dev folder and started all over, got a few things done then logged out for the day.

Today I logged in to continue and decided to check the web version of the report and lo and behold there are two of them there, one is the mostly good one that was lost and one is the new one I had started.

I opened up Application Studio and only the new one is there.

Any idea how I can sync my list of reports back up? I would really prefer to work on the one that is mostly finished.

Hi,

unfortunately this has been happening quite often, and in a number of projects. There have been fewer reports recently but it seems this is just because our App Studio developers have become tired of creating all those incidents.

One of the workarounds we discovered is this:

1. Get rid of any pending operations.

2. Log on with a different user. Chances are that other users will see the original report.

3. Export the report with that user. Delete the report.

4. Now log on with your original user. Import the exported report. Then you should see it again as usual. You may have to use a new unique name since the original still exists somewhere with the old name.

I'd still suggest you create a support incident, if only to remind Development that the issue is still there.

As it turns out this didn't work for me - my import is failing:

Import failed
ReportingFolder object (ID: 2241CB8C-9557-4A06-96F2-0FB4DA9BB2AD) cannot be checked out because object has protected content.

Oddly now all of the folders are also showing as named New Folder with my original user as well. With the second user the folders appear to be named how they were originally.

Further to Martin's comment about accepting pending operations PLEASE read the order this should be done in in the online documentations. Broadly first report folders, then reports etc. Just accepting all operations in one go can lead to repository corruption.
