Get Mingle groups from ION API

I have tried using this API to get group details and all users in the group but unable to fetch the groups SocialService.Svc/User/*/AllGroups , I am able to assign the group in workflow notifications. 

What could be the reason ION API is not able to retrieve all mingle groups?

Clarified we need to use IFS groups instead of Mingle groups
