Can you please site some scenarios where I can use the merge step? Just curious about it since I haven't use it ever since.

An example we use merge for is to take a sync.salesorder BOD and inject data from a 3rd party api to use in a data flow.
Eg - check if an order is in a specific state in an integrated application to then perform additional actions based on this criteria.
