Compound "visible when" conditions in Menus?

Does anyone know of a way to conditionally display menu items with compound conditions. The "visible when" directive is based on a simple conditions which doesn't allow logical operators, and I'm not seeing a way to add a Condition field to be used on a Menu.

The menu changes in the October release have added some additional visible when conditions to menu items that we have already conditionally hidden. I'd like to rebuild the menus and keep the delivered functionality with our customization, but it looks like that might not be possible

I think you need to create the compound condition as a condition. Then reference the condition on the menu using "actor.context.keyfield" or "actor.agent(businessclass).Condition" to tell it what business class/condition to apply.

There are some examples in the LPL viewer that might be helpful. If you set the page size to 200, press ctrl-f in the cmd window, click on the first menu LPL example and search for "visible", you can scroll down the list pretty fast to find examples quickly.

We have created fields with conditions and then used that in our menu restrictions. Something like:

IsPayrollUser

(HROrganization = actor.agent(Employee).HROrganization
and PayrollUserPH = actor.agent(Employee).Employee

And then used in the menu / security class if needed

Menu Items
PayrollPPAForm
visible when (actor.agent(Employee).EmployeeIsPayrollTimeAdjUserRelPH.IsPayrollUser)

Safety tip: Make sure the Condition and it's parts perform well.I've seen bad conditions make the application menu performance horrendous.The case was a high-traffic application with a sub-optimal condition causing heavy load and db contention.

Thanks for the tip! We haven't seen any performance issues with the conditions we've added. Though we are experiencing a very strange issue (Action Request links don't function) with this menu after toggling on "Redesigned App Navigation Menu". That's actually what prompted the menu rebuild. Infor Support is currently researching that issue.

Do you have any cautions about removing / replacing "visible when" conditions that reference the "UIMenuVersion" config parameter? Those conditions are essentially what prompted this thread question. It looks like the parameter is created when the "Redesigned App Navigation Menu" feature toggle is enabled.

From what I can tell it's just used to change the menu view, e.g. icons on menu items / condensed menu.

Removing the vis when stuff for UIMenuVersion would be fine. It's more configurations for you and you can't easily go back/forth with the new menu toggle going off and on though.

"Action Request links don't function" - have an incident, I'm curious about the details there.
