Setting up API connection point

Hello,

I am trying to set up an API connection point

I am very new to this and the only method I am familiar with is creating an API suite in ION API gateway and uploading a swagger to make the endpoints testable and accessible in ION desk.

The ones whose endpoint it is claim they don't have any swagger, or other documentation i can use. Right now i am unable the access the endpoint in ION desk to set up the connection point and then data flow. No options show up here:

Is there another way to make the endpoint accessible in ION desk, or is there another method altogether i could use?

The only info I have from them is the actual endpoint to post to. We are using HTTPS POST with basic authentication.

This is in an on-prem environment.

If an API doesn't provide a swagger doc you can create one and then upload it. Check out the swagger editor link below which shows the swagger output side by side with the source YAML. You likely will need to do some discovery on the API endpoint (e.g. in Postman) to determine what data to include, but depending on the endpoint you can keep the swagger doc pretty lean (e.g. basePath, paths, host, swagger, info, schemes).

You can also download an existing swagger JSON doc from ION API and use that as a reference in creating the swagger doc for the API you are adding.
