As we understand the details of IDM doc storage, maxFileSize for IDM is 2GB and is a global limit (as opposed to being configurable by tenant). However maxFileSize allowed when using the Copy Document Feature in IDM is 50MB.
Many distribution customers assemble certification packets from multiple documents that are already in IDM. Some have been put into IDM as the order has been moved along and material purchased and they may be specific only to that order. Some are connected to a larger material lot that has been (or will be) used for many orders. In this instance, the various cert packets are “copied” to a new document for one of the orders that pull from that material. The packets are growing in size each year – more data, PDFs that are poor quality scans or not compressed, etc. Not being able to copy requires more steps to use the existing document as a new start for the new order.
What is the reasoning behind having a copy limit that is less than the doc size limit? And why would it be such a small percentage of the max size? Even having this as 100MB or 150MB would help or eliminate the issue for most.
