DataView - "Send To Excel" vs. BG task with Report Option set for Excel

I have a custom dataview for a user, who takes that report and uses Send To Excel for his output.

The request now is to have the report sent by email automatically each week. I have the dataview-layout set up a background task and the report options set for Excel. However - the report sent by e-mail appears in more of a report style (headers, company logos) and does not have the formatting of the Send To Excel option from the dataview (bolded summary titles, collapsible groups in Excel).

Is there a trigger in the BG task definition or report options to generate the "Send To Excel" style in a background generated dataview?

Hello,

In the output Format column of the Report Options form, do you have an "Excel - Data Only (Open XML)" option. If so, try that one.

Thanks, I think this is the closest I'm going to get.

In talking to Infor support, it looks like any formatting on the DataView is done by the frontend client and not able to be carried over at all on the backend. There's some minimal formatting carried over with the --layout addition to the BG task, but it's not comprehensive.
