Need Help With Adding Custom Lookup Linked to Custom List Like Unit of Measures

Hi,

I added a new custom business class and list to try and create a lookup like Stock U of M on the main panel for item.

How do I link my custom business class and custom business class field(s) to item (via relationship?) so a lookup button appears on my custom field so it can open my custom list to select my custom field? I cannot get the lookup icon to appear on my field. My field has been added to the Item business class - custom field, but also part of my custom business class for my custom list.

I have been looking at LPL for Stock U of M to try and emulate that functionality. I see in the Stock U of M persistent field definition it states "

StockUOM is a UnitOfMeasure

What is the UnitOfMeasure field type. The list that opens when you click the lookup button for Stock U of M is called ValidUserOfMeasues so no connection there?

Thanks in advance for your help. New to LPL and Landmark, but not software development.

Try adding the field like this:

MyUOM is a UnitOfMeasureEdit

On the UI, add the field as follows:

MyUOM.UnitOfMeasure

select is ValidTrackedUnitsOfMeasure

Thanks Sandeep. I think we are getting closer. My field definition is as follows. I have added a custom field to the Item business class to be stored with it there. I want a lookup button to be present so when I click on it my custom list (using a custom business class) - see below opens and I can select from my list of GreenHealthDescriptions - about 200 and return that value to the Item business class and save it.

I am struggling to see how my custom business class with 2 fields (GreenHealthDescID (key field) and GreenHealthDesc can link to the GreenHealthDesc field on the item userfields form and the item business class. I was just using the Stock UoM as an example of what I am trying to emulate here with my own custom fields, list and business class.

I really appreciate your help and guidance here since I haven't done this before but it must be possible since there are a ton of fields in Infor with lookup buttons that access lists.
