Set date field to null in IDM

Hi all,

I am trying to utilize ION API to set a date field in IDM to be blank. The IDM attribute is a date type set to not required. I can set a date but I cannot remove it. Is there a different request body to remove an attribute?

I've tried blank, "" and NULL in the request body.

Hi Ryan,

If I understand correctly, you're trying to update the file which is already available in the IDM in some folder. 

The content of the file is Review_By & Review_Date using API IDM/api/items/{pid}

base64 value is converted for below xml data.

Now, IDM doesn't do any validations for data, it's just update the file with changes, even though if you provide the 50% xml data. API uploads/updates the file data no matter what you feed, it's all about converting to base64. Same goes to Date as well. This completes the file upload in IDM.

I believe you have created a form or flow or service which will read the data from this file uploaded in IDM.

And that's making the validation check for Date. 

You should be rechecking if the form/flow/service have any existing data type check. 

Also, Can you try using JSON for NULL values, instead of XML, since JSON and XML have different way of providing NULL values in it.
