Send email from ION when fail

Good Morning.  I'm fairly new to ION so forgive me if this is a basic question but I could not find any documentation.  We used to use bat scripts to move files around and send files to our vendors.  We are currently moving to ION.  Is it possible to send an email to my team if specific nodes in the data flow fail?  For example, we currently send a file to our vendor and also archive a copy of the file.  We would want an email sent to a specific email if the ION failed to send the file to the vendor.

Is this possible and if it is, is there any documentation that explains how to set it up?

Hi LBryant - this could be a great use case for ION Desk. ION workflow or document flows are typical used for file/message handling and transformation and the source (or target) system is an Infor CloudSuite application. But it can also be used independent as "stand-alone data flow". But if it is just moving files from A to B, without transformation, ION desk might not be your best option.

When something goes wrong in the process flow there are different options in workflows and with monitors and alarms to send e-mails. But do you have already a document/data flow in ION replacing your Bat scripts? If not then that should be made first and then you can build in the flow error traps with mail option.

Regards documentation I am not able to point you to documentation with exact instructions or example for your use case. You often need different building blocks of ION Desk to achieve what you want. The generic information is here and then check sections about monitors, workflows and alarms. But as said you first need your document/data flow.
