IDM - Auto populate a parameter with the UserID when uploading via InContext related Information?

hi.

Hopefully an easy one for someone who has been using IDM longer than I have.

When adding a document to IDM via an external system, we do this easily via ION API's and supply the relevant information/parameter details. All good and show perfectly in Related Information.

When a user adds the same type of document via related information/In Context application of M3, the first couple of specific parameters are supplied ok due to the record that has been selected but I also have UserID that I would like to be auto populated. Whilst they can add manually via additional parameters, I fear they will forget so wanted to auto populate.

I know the full name is supplied automatically when loading the Document to IDM but wanted the M3 name UserID to be auto added.

I thought something like this {UserContext.USID} or {session.userid} in the default setup of the document would pull the details through but alas does not. I know EDA and OS App can do similar and though IDM/M3/RelatedInformation may do the same. Not an issue if it does not as I can then do something with the full user name in IDM but thought it may be possible.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

Are you looking for the M3 UserID from MNS150? Is that part of the message? I think this would be a new requirement on the IDM widget and I don't know if it supports these type of template variables. IDM uses the IFS user guid as the user GUID.

It's an interesting scenario I can see if I can find the information for you, but I don't think that this is supported, but I also need confirmation regarding the M3 UserId, but I'm pretty sure you are referring to the specific ID for M3 that you can also see in IFS.

Hi,

This can be done if you add CMNUSR as a related table in CMS005 for the program where you need this.

In the key fields section select current user and add USID to the field group.

Add USID to the view in the program so it's visible in the grid.

Now add USID to be published as a part of the inforBusinessContext, this is done using MNS035MI AddEntityMap.

Now it's available as id* (* sequence number assigned in MNS035MI) in the businesscontext and you can assign it in the Business Context Model in IDM.

It is the M3 UserID, yes

I know in EDA you can add user context details and thought something simialr but understand the m3 User ID versus the IFS.

Fredrik_S also gave a workaround I guess which I may look into.
