Update Version of Enterprise Location

Hi Everyone,

I have successfully installed the Enterprise Connector and created an Enterprise Location. The first time it worked, but now there are updates available for the version. My question is: how do I update those versions?

PS: If it's necessary to know, the host is local on the computer.

The Enterprise Connector gets updates every release that Infor OS is updated in the Cloud. The support for Enterprise Connector version is for the prior 12 months of versions.

You should establish a regular process to update the on-premise Enterprise Connector(s). Some customers perform non-production updates upon the cloud update, and production update approx. 2 months later. You do so by downloading and rerunning the installer, or use a silent script. Please review the upgrading steps:

So every month you will see the caution symbol unless you keep these updated.

Unfortunately there are many that do nothing and their version is beyond support and they are running at risk. Enterprise Connectors has been around for several years and we see way to many obsolete versions.

We provide technology updates as well as functional updates, so that we are keeping the component operational sound with Java and DB drivers and other known vulnerabilities in check.

While we ensure backward compatibility for 12 months, and so far have had few breaking functions on older releases, there is a chance that eventually we will need to move forward.

I encourage all to check your versions and build a plan to keep the Enterprise Connecter relatively up to date.

I'll get on my soapbox... upgrading the EC and CFT is far more painful of a process than it should be!

Hi . We would be interested in your challenges to upgrade.

I can't speak for CFT (which I thought was being replaced in a near future release..) other than some work alongside of M3 teams.

The EC is a grid application and is pretty tried and tested as to being healthy and not losing anything.

We have had request to automate an update via the EC, but not very many and no solid suggestions on parameters... what are your thoughts. apply nn days after the release for a environment?

Is the pain in the download and applying or something else?

Concerns over OS Updates downtime? Multiple ECs? failover ECs (if critical)? Java Updates?

Suggest you check into the CFT roadmap with M3.

To be fair, CFT is the primary source of my complaint, not the EC.

For the EC:

Downtime or potential downtime to do the upgrade
Java updates are painful, and due to our security policy we have to do these frequently

For us something like having PRD EC version a few months behind TST/TRN and having them all auto update would work well.
