Compass Query - Return more that 100 rows

Hi,

The Compass tool within Infor has always been limited to 100 rows in the Result Set. We heard that a change was going to be made to increase that to 1000's of rows. We already know that we can use a tool like DBeaver to connect through JDBC and get more rows returned. But we were wondering if a change was made to the Compass UI in Infor to return more rows. Or was that just a rumor or our misunderstanding?

Not an answer but, you can also use IONAPI (Maybe Metadata publisher also, not sure?) to interact with the compass API's to return a result set (csv possible) of I think up to 100K rows.

Hi David,

This may not be the exact solution which you are looking at, but this will help you fetch up to 100k records at once.

An Excel Add-In has been officially published in Microsoft Appstore. It has been published with the name "Infor OS Add-In for Excel". It can be accessed from - Find the right app | Microsoft AppSource . Attaching a few screenshots of the same for your reference.
This will help you to retrieve data from Infor Data Lake into the excel sheet, using the same queries as used in compass.
In case you have more queries / are interested in exploring this tool please let me know.

Thanks, Rohit. We currently use the Excel Add-In and it is very useful. We had just heard that Compass itself was going to allow more than 100 rows returned and wanted to see if that was a recent change.

Hi, there is one more way to extract data from DB is DBeaver you can install the JDBC driver and create a service account with type Backend Service and test the connection.

With DBeaver-we can extract bulk records and we also can able to run complex script.

We currently use DBeaver, and it is useful, but it takes effort to set up. For security purposes, we set up individual Backend Services for each user who uses DBeaver. Users often run into trouble either setting it up or using it, so it's just one more thing that needs support.

It would be much more convenient if Compass itself returned more than 100 rows and we heard that was going to happen in the April release. It sounds like it didn't.

Happy to hear that you are using and satisfied with Excel Add-In. Regarding the query on Compass, I am not sure regarding that, but will try to find out and update you.

Hi David,

The enhancement for Compass UI to support around 10,000 rows output has been pushed into late 2024 or early 2025. That is due to prioritizing work on Data Security which is scheduled for release in October 2024.

Please note that roadmap timelines and scope of features are always tentative and subject to change.
