How do we enable Base64Binary in Sync.ContentDocument

In the schema of ContentDocument under DocumentResource group there is a field called Base64Binary. However, this is not being passed when a document enters ION. Does anyone know how to enable this? I've search all the options in IDM config but I can't find it.

Indeed it will not be filled by IDM when sending the Sync.ContentDocument BOD, you could enrich it in ION but not by setting some switch in IDM.
It can be filled when sending the Process.ContentDocument BOD to IDM.

That can not be enabled in IDM.

Using POST {{iu}}/{{tenant}}/IDM/api/items

you could add the base64 encoded file, but many integration platform do not like to do that encoding especially not for large files.

Using PUT {{iu}}/{{tenant}}/IDM/api/items/{{itemPid}}/resource?pid={{itemPid}}&$checkout=true&$checkin=true&$filename=Stockfoto.jpg

you could load or update a file to the document created before in IDM (the document only has the attributes at that moment no file attached.

The Sync.ContentDocument BOD does not contain the file itself, you could add that in ION using scripting but easier is to call the API in the receiving interface:

{{iu}}/{{tenant}}/IDM/api/items/{{itemPid}}/resource/stream

this downloads the actual file

So that field is when you send the base64 as input during saving and not the base64 representation of whatever you saved in IDM screen like PDF?

Got it thanks for the clarification. I was hoping to use it so that we don't have to convert the binary data to base64 when we use the octet stream api in IDM
