Validation against LN master data when uploading a document directly in IDM

I have a client asking if this is possible - I am not aware of a way. They'd like to potentially updload a document directly from IDM but have certain keywords for the document type be validated against the corresponding master data in LN.

Any thoughts?

What is the expected outcome if validation fails? Document upload should be stopped?

Yes, you can enable ION Configuration for the Document Type, which will send a Sync.ContentDocument to ION, when any documents are created, modified, or deleted. Included in that XML would be the attributes and values that were added. These values could then be used to call an API for LN, if that is available. I have done a very similar flow for CSD, but not have worked with LN.
