Is it possible to integrate external data sources with EPM via APIs and avoid using the data lake (don't ask why)?
The source system data would be accessed by the vendor's custom APIs.

Yes. We can. we have done an integration with External API in ION workflow using ION API. We have done this for carrier interface for LN. Thanks.
