We would like to load an Excel as an attechment via a report and then import this into a staging table. i know that it works with CSV files. But how do you do it with an excel file?
DanielAFAIK this is not supported. A user needs to save their current Excel tab as a text file. It does however merit an Enhancement Request, bearing in mind for the simplest use case the first or only tab would be opened and the data would need to be in a columnar format, ideally with headers.

I have created ER to add parsing of excel files to Application Studio Engine. If you could read excel files like you can now with CSV attachments right now It would solve your problem.
