Excel Integration Error Suppression

Hi all.

We're new to V12 and currently struggling to find an equivalent option for suppressing errors caused by a missing element (currently returns #VALUE!). Is there a workaround or could someone point in the right direction? Ideally a setting due to a very large volume of cells that needs to be handled.

The below picture shows what V11 option looked like.

unfortunately this is not yet available.

Can you please describe the scenario in more details? I mean we can introduce it (Enhancement Request would be the best option here!) but for me it is critical to understand situation when you deliberately use formulas with 'missing element'. Is it report design (i.e. that you reference cells which are sometimes empty) or is it DB design (that e.g. in certain scenarios elements are missing or inaccessible due to permissions), or?

Hi Piotr, I would fix the rules that are causing the #value errors as this is not healthy to have rules generating errors. This could also slow down the application and could generate incorrect results at total level. It is good that you see the errors in reporting so that you can address the back end issues. Hiding them is not an ideal solution.

Hi Vit,

Thank you for the reply. It is a report design where formulas are referencing a dimension element that doesn't exist.

Assume you have the following cubes where the dim3 is variable.

Then, those variable dimensions have the following elements in them.

The report references all of the above elements, however, only cube3 has dim3 which contains all the elements, whereas cube1 & cube2 don't, and therefore it return the following result.

This is a legacy report that just hadn't been designed well but worked fine in V11. However it is too big to try and rewrite the formulas and mirroring the dimension elements between them is uneconomical so I'm just looking for a workaround for the time being so that I can design a new report.

thanks. Interesting usecase! I would probably use validation approach, i.e. I would use INFOR.GET.ELEMENT formula to retrieve MEMBER_UNIQUE_NAME and then check if retrieved value is blank. In that case the element is not available and you can provide e.g. "-" as result.
