Integrating Syteline 10 with VLMs (Vertical Lift Modules)

Hello,

We have Syteline 10 (on-prem, 2024.04) and our manufacturing is looking at possibilities of using VLMs in our warehouse and how they can integrate with Syteline.

The goal would be Syteline uses the correct VLM locations to pull inventory as transactions are made.

Has anyone been asked this before or even done it? Sounds interesting, but I'm not sure where to begin. Thanks in advance!

I've done this with a Kardex machine. The machine had an API that pulled in xml files for transactions and generated xml files for responses which were pulled into SyteLine. There was a rest api which would be a cleaner integration but for various reasons we went with xml files.

You would need to research the API documentation for whatever your VLM you choose and customize your SyteLine to use the API. So your request is totally possible but it is not a tiny project and would require some development and customization.

I am working on a project that requires a Python script to import quote and order records from the Enterprise Quoting API. I have yet to find documentation and/or forums to guide me down this path beyond theretical concepts. I am open to collaboration with anyone with experience working with Info's APIs.
