First time user, sorry to bother you all but where to find data information to connect Birst to our datalake, Datalake is loaded we have replication on.
If you have been provisioned with an Analytic Solution to correspond to your Cloudsuite, then you have a created connection to the Data Lake. Also, the Birst Platform license enables the Infor Data Lake connector. Both connection and connector are in Modeler/Connect. You need Birst Admin privileges assigned through the Infor Portal role to access.
What are you trying to accomplish?
We are in the process of learning all that tools that we have in the cloud as we are new to it. The data lake is now set up replication is running, we thought that Birst would simply access that data. Are we mistaken that birst is a way to create reports. I will check permission in the portal i thought i assigned it. thanks you for any and all help
I'd strongly recommend this videoBuilder Hour | Birst model buildingIt's a very steep learning curve, not helped by the differences between the standard and enterpise versions and the documentation. But that video has some 'aahhh' moments in it.There are a suite of videos, some useful, some not depending on what you are after.Infor - YouTube
Thank you very much for the information and help we all figured it was not going to be a simple "let set it up and show all" with that said. is it worth the bang for the buck/time?
As RichardF mentioned, Birst is a BI toolset. When you have a Cloudsuite license, there is a corresponding Analytic Solution provisioned within the Birst Platform. This solution is accelerated content to quickly provide collections/dashboards/visualizations to analyze important aspects of the Cloudsuite data. Each solution has documentation at docs.infor.com providing steps in order to extract and publish data into the Solution.
Also, you can speak with your Infor contact (Account Leader or Customer Experience Manager) about resources available within Infor to guide you through initial loading of the Analytic Solution and subsequent data extractions/publish thereafter.
The Birst Platform is a complete BI solution containing ETL, Dimensional Modeling, and Visualization components. With the 2025.04 release, we have more integration into the Infor OS Platform with new capability of displaying visualizations directly into Workspaces by specifying BQL.
It is advantageous to sign-up for Birst Foundational training for Admin and Analysts to have a complete understanding of offerings in the Platform.
Diane, thank you and i will reach out to infor rep to help where do i sign up for the training?
There is a free resource that the Agile Dragon Group provides called the Dragon Den. I did the courses in the Birst Report Developer Training section in the menu on the left side. You can request access here: login.circle.so/sign_in
