Export All Records to Excel Without Retrieving All

Hello, we've recently uplifting to Syteline 10 (2024.04 uplift pack) and we are using the web-client for the first time. We've come across certain limitations, one of those being timeout issues when trying to retrieve all records for reports.

Our users like to retrieve all records in forms like Items, Purchase Orders or Vendors and they export this data to Excel. But to take strain off of our system, how can I force all records to be exported to Excel when a user is using the System Default of 200 records for data retrieval? If there's a work around that can do something like this, that will be great. Thanks in advance!

You could still run into this issue because the web server is still going to request all of that data, format it to an output, and then deliver it to the web client.

You're going to want to extend your session timeouts, I believe it's in the web.config for the IDO Request Service on your web server (IIS, NGINX, or w/e web server software your company uses). Probably create a ticket with Infor for specific instructions on how to do that.

If your users are loading all the rows into a Form and then using Actions > To Excel then I'd probably investigate any Reports that fulfill the same purpose and make sure they know the filtering options they have available on the form. i.e. if they're doing a POLines dump just to find the lines due in 6 days then make sure they know they can do a filter like " < 7/21/2025" on the due_date field or "7/*/2025" to grab all rows with a due date in the month of July 2025.

Alternatively, you can create reports that execute a corresponding DataView as a Background Task and then you could use the ReportOptions form to have it format as an Excel file.

You could use the PurchaseOrderVarianceByItemReport as a reference for a form that has the option to call a dataview as a report
