Can We Lock Users Out of Specific Sites?

Hello.

My company uses Syteline version 10, running WinStudio 2022.06.09. We are On Prem, and we use multiple sites.

I am looking to see if there is a way to lock users out of sites that they do not need to use. We already have security settings updated so they can't access anything outside of the site they are supposed to access, but it would be incredibly handy if we could find a way to lock the user out of the site completely.

I would like for them to either A) not have the option to select the wrong site from this dropdown box at all, or B) upon signing into the incorrect site, they immediately get a message saying they don't have access to this site and are immediately returned to the log in.

This is the log in screen currently. The red squares I added to cover up the company names.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is this something that can even be done?

Have a look at Config Groups in Configuration Manager. You can create groups of configurations (sites) that only have a subset of your sites. You then give the users a URL for the Smart (or Web) client that only has the sites they need. (parameter &configgroup=XXX)

It doesn't actually stop them logging in if they happen to know a Config Group that includes the site and construct a URL but they wouldn't see it normally. You can remove sites from the DEFAULT config group to make it slightly more difficult as well.
