Best Approach to Trigger ION Workflow from Custom Mongoose App?

Hey everyone,

I’m working on a custom Mongoose-based application and need to trigger an ION Workflow when a certain condition is met (e.g., a status change or user action).

I’m aware of event mechanisms and document flows, but I’m not clear on the cleanest way to invoke a workflow from a Mongoose form. Should I use IDO methods, or is there a more direct ION integration pattern for this?

Any code examples or best practices would be much appreciated.

If your workflow is triggered by a status change on an IDO, you can use the New External Workflow wizard. In the background this creates an Application Event Handler that publishes a Process.Workflow BOD.

Alternatively, you can use the AES to send the Process.Workflow BOD manually.

Or, finally, you can call the ION process/application API to start a workflow through an API.
