How to Place a New Custom Persistent Field on an Action Form Using an Action Configuration

Hi,

Some of the new RSS LPL forms are action forms and you cannot directly place a new custom field on it. Get the error message "invalid field".

Has anyone added a new custom field to an action form using an action configuration or some other method?

Normally, you would create a new custom field associated with a business class and add that field to the form, but you cannot do that with action forms.

Infor is suggesting using an action configuration to accomplish this task. Any sample LPL code and tips would be greatly appreciated.

This is likely an Instance Action with Parameters then.

Instance Actions with Parameters only know about the fields that are parameters. Since the field you want to add isn't a parameter you are seeing Invalid Field, even though the field exists on the BC.

I believe the trick is also creating an ActionOverride for the action and adding what you need as Parameters and Parameter Rules (if needed). Then you can add it to the form UI.
