Pickup a file from the sFTP connection point outside the cloud and move it to LN cloud/appdata

Hello,

We are looking for a possibility to read the file from sFTP location and move it to Infor LN cloud path under \appdata\<XXXX> directly for further downstrem processing.

As per our initial analysis, It looks like, there is no way to setup a file connection point in ION which can write the file retrieved from sFTP path to LN Cloud path under \appdata. I'm asking this questions here as this could be a common requirement for many customer(s) and a working solution might already exists.

I believe LN File transfer service can download and upload files between LN cloud tenants only and not outside.

As we are working on the cloud transistion, It will of great help if someone can share the process and steps on how this can be achieved.

We don't want to use custom BOD route, direct file transfer automated solution will be of help as this will reduce scope of manual intervention and errors.

You can try using Enterprise Connector to bring the file from the sFTP location into ION. Once the file is available in ION, you can configure a follow-up flow to place it into the LN \appdata\<XXXX> path.

I haven’t implemented this specific scenario myself, but theoretically it should work.

Yes reading fthe file using Enterprise connector and sFTP connection works fine, after that I don't see a direct option to add in Data Flow to write the file into a LN specific path. We can add LN CE application but there is no option to specify the destination path, we can only specify the company number.

Initially we also thought there should be an easier option available, but I couldn't figure out a way yet other than creating custom BOD which is not the right method for file transfer. Any suggestion would be of help.

I'm not sure if logical folders exist in LN — I mainly work with CSI — but if they do, you could create a connection to an sFTP "server" and then define a logical folder pointing to it.
