Barcode scanning and Contract Specials

Hello- In the ItemGTIN business class, there are multiple selections for the barcode type. It is currently only available for item master items though. We are looking into this functionality on the contract line, however only the GTIN number is available there as of today. Are there any sites out there that use barcode scanning for GTINs for contract specials? Would this be something you would be interested in having? If so, I would love to enter an enhancement request for this with support from the community. Or if you have other ideas on how to manage this for special items, please let me know. Thank you! Hi Monica,

On the Line tab on the contract you can enter a GTIN for the item that is classified as a special. It does only allow for one though. I will say we have not implemented this yet to send that GTIN data to our EMR, but are planning to in the near future as we plan to use barcode scanning and utlize the GTIN. If that isn't functioning today for contract specials, we would be intrested in having and would endorse the enhancement. Thanks!

Hi Anthony, Yes you're correct. It does allow for the GTIN number on the contract line, but that is all the information for GTINs that's on there. We're looking for barcode data as well as a way to manage all the GTIN data that you would see when going directly to the ItemGTIN business class. I am thinking that perhaps this could be managed on a new business class like that, perhaps like a ContractLineGTIN business class, or something similar.

We will soon be moving all Non stock items to contract specials, but we're looking for a way to retain the GTIN data.
