Hello Infor SunSystems Community,
For any customer that may have missed this, I wanted to share some key updates from the Infor SunSystems Lifecycle Policy changes made in September 2024, which directly impacts all customers using SunSystems and Query & Analysis products.
Key Points:
1. Lifecycle Policy Introduction for SunSystems
- In September 2024, Infor issued a formal Lifecycle Policy (LCP) for Infor SunSystems, clarifying support and maintenance stages.
- Importantly, Infor does NOT “end of life” products if customers maintain active maintenance contracts. Instead, some versions are moving into Sustaining Maintenance—meaning support continues but with limited updates.
2. Maintenance Categories Explained
- Mainstream Maintenance: Full support including all fixes and updates.
- Extended Maintenance: Limited updates, focusing on critical fixes only.
- Sustaining Maintenance: Basic support, no new fixes or updates, but customers retain access to existing patches and support.
3. NIS2 Cybersecurity Directive Compliance
- The EU’s NIS2 Directive now enforces stringent cybersecurity standards which started on October 18, 2024.
- Older SunSystems and Query & Analysis versions are NOT NIS2 compliant and will no longer receive updates.
- Customers are strongly encouraged to upgrade to either:
- Infor SunSystems Cloud + Query & Analysis Cloud, or
- Infor SunSystems v6.4 + Query & Analysis v11.3 (on-premise)
4. Why Upgrade?
- Enhanced security to meet modern compliance requirements.
- Experience a smooth transition to Infor SunSystems Cloud, unlocking the benefits of cloud technology with minimal disruption.
5. Next Steps for Customers
- Review the Online Compatibility Matrix to understand platform support limitations.
- Customers with on-premise licenses may continue to use SunSystems and Query & Analysis in accordance with their current maintenance and support agreement.
- For as long as the customer remains on active maintenance and support, they are entitled to software upgrades to the latest on-premise version.
