How do I make the fields appear in the subject areas?

How do I make the fields appear in the subject areas? I made a connection with Datalake Connect, used a script (select), imported the data, and published it.

I've already watched some videos on connecting, but nothing I do shows the fields. I've already cleared the cache in admin/space management/Subject Area.

The data flow you stated of Data Lake, creating a Query Based Object (select), importing the data (otherwise known as extract in Orchestration), and publishing are perceived as staging the data into a space. If you have created a model (scripted sources, relating output columns as either attributes/measures in Modeler Relate and published data), all modeled attributes and measures are automatically added to the Default Subject Area. You have to manually add attributes and measures to custom Subject Areas other than the Default Subject Area.

Thank you so much for the detailed response! The workflow you described regarding Staging, Modeling, and the difference between the Default Subject Area and Custom ones is correct.

I understand that when I create and publish a model, the fields should automatically go into the Default Subject Area, and I should manually add them to Custom Subject Areas.

My exact problem is this:

When I navigate to:

Admin \ Space Management \ Subject Area
I select my Custom Subject Area (or even the Default one, if the fields are missing there)
I try to add the fields (Attributes and Measures) in the editing pane.

The fields (columns) that I created and published simply DO NOT APPEAR in the list of available fields for selection.

I have already completed the entire flow: Datalake \Script/Select \Import\Publish. I have also tried clearing the Subject Area cache.

My suspicion is: The model I published is not being recognized correctly, or I missed the crucial step of field type definition (Attribute/Measure) within the Modeler.

What else should I check?

1. Modeler/Relate: After importing the data, I must ensure that on the Modeler/Relate screen (where you see your tables), I selected each column and explicitly defined it as an Attribute or Measure (and not just "Output Column") before clicking Publish.
2. Publish Status: I need to re-confirm that the status of my model publication is "Completed" and has not silently failed.

Is there any step between "Publishing" and Subject Area visualization that I might be missing? Thank you for your continued assistance!

Please click the Resync All Subject Areas in the Subject Area Management. Under the Add Columns, the Default Subject Area and the New Subject Area should then appear. Click on Default Subject Area to drag whatever attribute or measure you wish to add to the New Subject Area.

If you still experience a challenge, please submit a case to our Birst Support. It is hard to determine the issue through the Community with screenshots, whereas it is better to have us proxy into your space and do a walk-through.

I followed the steps exactly as you described:

I verified my model to ensure the fields are defined as Attributes/Measures.
I re-did the Import and Publish process.
I went to Subject Area Management and clicked "Resync All Subject Areas".

Unfortunately, even after performing the resynchronization, the fields still do not appear in the "Add Columns" list pane, neither under the Default Subject Area nor the Custom Subject Area.

The model is published and the status shows "Completed."

Since this issue was not resolved by the standard steps and I cannot see the fields even in the Default Subject Area, I agree that submitting a support case is the necessary next step.

I will submit a case to Birst Support so they can proxy into my space and investigate the issue more closely.
