Updating Item Prices in Syteline (V9 and V10)

Greetings. We are currently on Syteline V9 but upgrading next year to V10. I didn't find any useful posts with a quick search on item prices, and I was wondering what methods others are using to get updated item pricing into Syteline. Our team indicates that the Change Item Price form caused issues with unwanted changes to items, so we are trying to identify other methods to "easily" update mass quantities of item prices. If anyone has suggestions for efficient ways to get these in the system, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Check out the DecisionExcelerator https://www.decision.com/software/decision-excelerator/. It allows you to read and write SyteLine IDO data from Excel worksheets. It can add/update data. Years back it had issues if the form normally used to manage the data use Load/Save Overrides to save the data (look at the Collections on the form, then Options>Advanced Options>Load/Save Override.) Item Pricing form does have a Load/Save Override, but its just a Post Query calling a stored procedure to calculate the derived unit price fields - nothing in the Update or Insert sections. You do have to do a little modeling to make sure you're going to be pushing in valid data since it doesn't have access to any of the Validators tied to all the form components. We would generally do a Read operation first to pull a few hundred rows of data into Excel, then look at the fields with meaningful data in them (i.e., ignore a field if all the records have NULL or 0, etc.) then use that as a template to paste in all the data to be updated. It does take some training, and you are bypassing all the validation in the forms so you have to be very careful what you push in, but years back we used to use that on new projects to load in Items, BOMs, Customers, Vendors, etc. These days the consultants just use Paste Rows Append or Paste Rows Overwrite (very carefully) to get all the data in for new installs. But it sounds like the Excelerator may be a good option for you.
