A lot of the default homepages and widgets don't work well for our company using Syteline. Is there a way to add more widgets or workspaces without having to make custom ones myself?
Hi, It's possible to make a copy of a standard workspace, add widgets and then use that workspace instead. But it's not possible to edit the workspace and add additional widgets to the standard one.
To add more workspaces to the catalog you start by creating a new empty workspace, add the widgets you want and then if you have permissions, you can publish that to the catalog. You would need a PORTAL-ContentPublished security role to be able to publish your own widgets and workspaces to the catalog(s) for others to use. That is how you make custom ones yourself. If you are a PORTAL-ContentPublisher role you would be able to manage all widgets, and workspaces, including the ones created by others and as a MingleAdministrator you have full admin access to the Portal settings found under OS. If this is a workspace with filters and you add widgets to it, the additional widgets may not be supported by the filters and the standard workspace was custom built. Filters will not appear on other workspaces but you can duplicate an existing one with filters and add widgets to it. But there are a few limitations here so try out what works because filters are only part of standard workspaces and the copy is in place to remove widgets or perhaps add a menu widget that you can configure. 3. Then add the widgets you want and then publish it if you want it to be available in the catalog. The actions that you can take on a workspace to manage it is mostly on this menu here.
