With our payroll setup in GHR - it appears that the employee has to opt out of electronic delivery to have a printed copy of their W-2. According to IRS Pub 15-A employer's supplemental, the employee must give consent to view W-2s online instead of receiving a paper copy. I would think they would need to check to box to enable paperless delivery BEFORE viewing the online W-2. In addition, the online option should be automatically disabled, unless the employee opted in.
